Live Stocking & Delivery

Delivery is available throughout the western US for a rate of 1.50/ loaded mile. We are capable of hauling up to 8,000lbs in our giant semi tanker down to a few hundred lbs in our pickup trucks. We typically try and combine several orders on one truck load and split up delivery costs when we have customers in the same area. Most deliveries occur between March to June and our delivery schedule can fill up fast. It's always a good idea to order early.

Is my pond good for trout?
Trout thrive in clean freshwater ponds and streams their ideal temperature range is 40-60 degrees.
How many fish do I need?
This can be a difficult question to answer because of the wide variances in different fisheries. Water flow, temperature, and food source are some main factors to consider. We usually recommend 200-300 lbs of fish per acre of water as a safe starting point.
What size of fish is best?
For pond stocking, I generally recommend 10 inches and larger, smaller fish tend to have a poor survival rate. Our most popular size is 12-18 inch fish or .75-2lbs.
What regulations are there?
Trout being a game fish are regulated by state fish and/or agricultural agencies. Laws vary by state, most require a private pond permit, and any state out of Idaho requires an import or transportation permit. Since we are certified disease free by the US fish and wildlife service and have a good reputation with state agencies we typically have no problem obtaining import permits. Diploid vs Triploid?
In simple terms triploid is a sterile fish, and dipoid is a fertile fish. Some areas are required by state agencies to only allow triploid fish for stocking to avoid the possibility of cross breeding with wild fish stocks.
